Job Description

Position Role: As SO1 cyber operational policy, be responsible for specialist advice relating to cyber operations.
Responsibilities
1. Demonstrate conceptual thinking and analysis. Develop and implement policy to enable current and future defence cyber operations.
2. Demonstrate critical thinking. Examine novel and contentious proposals for cyber operations and advise senior officials & Ministers on their approval.
3. Identify and mitigates strategic risk through provision of policy advice to inform defence planning. including through teh Strategic Effects Cycle.
4. Demonstrate defence and security acumen. Contribute to cross-governmental and International policy development relevant to cyber operations.
5. Promote development of cyber operations expertise in the Strategic Effects Policy team.
6. Influence stakeholders using appropriate negotiation, mediation and persuasion skills.
