Task requirements
Unit Function: Identify threat to life reporting, provide operational support, and track strategic indicators and warning (I&W) for Defence Intelligence, senior MOD customers, and partners across government. Position Role: Provide analytical expertise and intellectual leadership to support best practice of DI Watch analysts. Domestic Considerations: A potential requirement to conduct J2 duties out of hours ISO UK operations and crisis response, including being on-call on an infrequent/scheduled basis, may exist depending on operational tempo. Responsibilities: 1. As an analytical SME, conduct analysis as required and increase the analytical capacity and reliability of DI Watch processes / products (including OSINT). 2. Standardise practices across shift crews and ensure continuity in understanding the communities of interest and context around each problem set. 3. Undertake imagery analysis course to support DI Watch operational task requirements with SME knowledge. 4. Surge to meet analytical requirements in support of the J2 team, or be placed on remote, scheduled, on-call duty during crisis periods. 5. Support J2 analysts during DI crises to provide support to deployed forces and decision makers in conjunction with PJHQ and DI. 6. Conduct limited aspects of cover for DI Watch Ops Officer duties in their absence and ensure sufficient resilience in Command Group. 7. Nurture new relationships within customer engagement, to increase access and audience of J2 resource and intelligence products. |
Essential competencies
Vetting to DV level and ability to pass Annex 6 nationality waivers is essential. OPMI Class 1 or equivalent qualification is also essential. |
Desirable competencies
Previous OPINT/analytical/IMINT experience highly desirable. OSINT experience desirable. |
