Job Description

Purpose / Role:  

To act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Clothing & General Stores Team (CGST). Provide the ‘lived experience’ perspective, knowledge, and guidance on the impact of changes to uniform. Use experience and knowledge of wearing the uniform and of managing a supply chain to ensure the best products are delivered and that the 2SL directed Uniform Improvement Project (UIP) continues to deliver against a continuous improvement objective.

What are my deliverables:

o    Review and rationalise all Royal Navy Uniform Clothing to determine what should be retained, improved or deleted.

o    Provide SME input to Statement of User Requirements (SURs). Including, but not limited to: validating new item requests by seeking out potential existing alternatives; assist Category Managers with development of SURs in terms of utility, fielding, interoperability, policy impacts of new items; 

o    Assist with CAL and scaling reviews.
