Task requirements
Role
The management, provision and assurance of all G4 activities for the QM's Dept, primarily in the field.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team.
- Manage delegated tasks and associated risk.
- Develop, advise and support subordinates and junior officers.
- Maintain health and safety in the workplace.
Manage subordinate discipline, support subordinate development and deliver career advice/management.
- Deliver in barracks/business process, ensuring maintenance of standards and efficiency.
- Plan, conduct and manage training for subordinates.
- Lead for Canterbury based community engagement events as tasked by ROSO and PSAO HQ Coy.
- Efficient management of the Officers’ Mess, Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess and Junior Ranks Club, in conjunction with the relevant committee members.
- Front of house duties for unit Community Engagement events, and mess functions as required.
- Day to day management of Junior Ranks Club trading account in conjunction with the Fund Manager, including making authorised purchases, stock management and monthly stock checks.
Essential competencies
Must hold a minimum Full Cat B UK Driving Licence.
Must hold the following;
- MJDI and JAMES qualifications.
- All Arms Stores Course.
- Dangerous Goods Awareness trained.
Desirable competencies
Must have a good understanding on the G4 logistical chain at battalion level as will be the linchpin between the Coy CQMS on the ground, the RQMS and QM's Dept on weekends. You will be ensuring all commodities are managed, controlled and issued according to unit SOP's and army policy.
Authorised Road Rep and Ammunition Stores qualified.

Position will be boarding in line with the CM Boarding Manual.
Additional information
QMs Dept is situated in Canterbury, Kent. SP will parade, work and operate from this location.
Must live within a commutable distance of 50 miles of Canterbury and work on Wednesday evenings and weekends. Minimum days required is 27 however, BPT to work double the number in support of community engagement tasks as direct by the chain of command. The majority of community engagement tasks will be at weekends with the occasional week night when required.
