Task requirements
Subject to formal establishment, a vacancy will arise for a OR9 to OF3 to serve as SO2 Info Ops RoW B at PJHQ, Northwood HQ on FTRS Limited Commitment Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 Oct 24 for 36 months.
Unit Role:
PJHQ Joint Effects (JE) is the UK hub for operational level Full Spectrum Targeting. Working across UK Defence, US Combatant Commands and Theatre HQs, JE aligns operational demand with UK capability to deliver deliberate lethal targeting, IO&A, CEMA, SS, TLAM & other SPECAP effects. The JE team seeks to introduce all aspects of “Integrated Action” supporting J5 from the outset of any planning activity. JE is focused on developing an audience-centric approach and is optimised to synchronise Integrated Effects across the spectrum of overseas operations, on behalf of UK Defence, to compete with or fight our adversaries.
Position Role:
To plan, refine and integrate Information Activities within the assigned area, in close coordination with J3, J5 and J9 Media.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Info Ops (and where necessary wider JE) input into PJHQ operational planning and directives, working closely with PJHQ J5 and MOD Military Strategic Effects (MSE).
- Lead Info Ops (and where necessary wider JE) input into PJHQ management of current operations, working closely with PJHQ J3 and MSE.
- Participate in PJHQ battle rhythm, maintaining situational awareness and contributing Info Ops input to meetings as required.
- BPT Chair Info Ops / JE Working Groups related to assigned area.
- Liaise with deployed and deployable HQs (including components, SJFHQ and JFHQ) to align the monitoring and evaluation of audiences.
- Liaise with other operational HQs (sS, bi-lat partners and NATO) to align the monitoring and evaluation of audiences.
- Support development of Info Ops and JE processes and procedures and input to Defence policy and doctrine with a particular focus on the monitoring and evaluation of audiences.
- 9. Promote awareness of StratCom, JE and Info Ops across PJHQ and with external audiences as appropriate.
Essential competencies
Must be an OR9 to OF 3 of any specialisation.
Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Domestic Considerations: The role may require occasional overseas travel. Operational requirements may dictate short-notice irregular working hours.
