Task requirements

Domestic Considerations, RSDs: The post offers a high attendance level and hybrid working days when appropriate, with the opportunity to work upwards of 88 days per year. Working pattern can involve weekdays and weekends during modular and consolidated courses. Army Reserve post, based in Edinburgh with some travel and some overnight duty required.

Position Role:  SSA

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain unit ORBAT information on JPA under direction from the RAWO/Adjt.
  2. Supervise the production of Part One Orders under direction of RAWO/Adjt.
  3. Support and Manage Recruit Documentation at Unit Level under guidance from RAWO/PSI 
  4. Assist in the compilation of unit reports, record management and returns as directed.
  5. Control and process soldiers' SJAR (SJAR plan, initiation of report, MYA, staffing of reports to Career Managers) in conjunction with Workforce Warrant Officer.
  6. Supervise discipline procedures at Unit level.
  7. Conduct quality assurance checks on discipline procedures and documentation at Unit level.
  8. Provide Staff support to the CO and Unit HQ.
  9. Act as Detachment Sgt responsible for the administration of the detachment and focal point for the mentoring and training.

 

Essential competencies

HR, SPS SSA Trained, JPA & CM - It is essential the incumbent of this post has AGC (SPS) wide experience in personnel administration and Reservist administration (career management, attendance-based pay and CofE qualifying).

Suitable & recommended on last SJAR for Training Environments (Phase 1 training).

Desirable competencies

ASLS DTTT. (can be gained if not held on appointment).

Instructional Qualification such as DTC(A)/DTTTv3

Cat D-1 driver licence       

JPA, Churchill, RAPS, PPS, MODNET and SharePoint Trained

To deliver trained and motivated Reserve soldiers to the Field Army and establish a centre of excellence in the Scotland.

Further Information:

We are a satellite training location who offer reservist the ability to train locally in a modular or consolidated fashion. The unit is small with approximately 34 personnel. With our higher headquarters Soldier Academy (Sldr Ac) based in Pirbright we work with a high degree of autonomy. We welcome and train reserve recruits from all over the UK.

This role will also give you the opportunity to undertake training courses that may not be available to you through your own unit, such as skill at arms, range qualifications, CBRN, BCD and Map Reading.

This is a reservist role that can offer up upwards of 88 days per year, working pattern can involve weekdays and weekends during modular and consolidated courses including instructor duties and overnight stays.

The advert states SC vetting but some posts only require CTC.
