Task requirements
This is a RE DCT (Digital Communications Technician) Spr/LCpl Volunteer Reserve position in a Nationally Recruited Unit. Personnel serve on National Reserve Terms of Service, with a minimum 19x RSDs requirement. 38x RSDs will be initially allocated, there will be opportunities for more. Non-RE signals/comms trained personnel can apply for this role.
65 Wks Gp RE's mission is to: Deliver specialist force and close support Infrastructure Support to the Air, Land, Logistic, Maritime and Special Forces Components and OGDs within the Land environment in order to support theatre entry, sustained operations and recovery; support to UK Resilience; and Defence Engagement.
65 Wks Gp RE has an established strength of 269 personnel.
Post Role: Digital Communication Technician.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct DCT and driving tasks in support of Unit activity.
- Operate and maintain military communication platforms in accordance with regulations.
- Provide G6 support to sub-Unit and Unit events.
- Maintain core currency and complete all required ITRs and mandated training.
Essential competencies
Current and competent DCT/Signals operator, familiar and in-date with in-service communication platforms.
Full driving licence, Land Rover GS with Mod 1&2 or willing to attend relevant training to achieve this standard.
Desirable competencies
Minibus driver.
Familiarity of MyDRIVE.
Selection Process
Unit selection board.
Board will consider: PPP; Military CV; and service history.
Non-RE signals/comms trained personnel may apply.

Additional information
Non-RE personnel selected for this role would be expected to transfer to RE. If they do transfer to RE they would be required to complete a 2 week Combat Engineer Course to become eligible for promotion.
65 Wks Gp has 6x sub-Units called Specialist Team Royal Engineers (STRE). An STRE is a small sub-Unit with an established strength of approx 42. Each STRE has 1x DCT PiD.
