Task requirements
Position Role: The CQMS is responsible for the provision of all aspects of day-to-day G4 administration. Also responsible for the training of the Reserve CQMS and his staff. Responsibilities: 1. Accounting for all G1098/Miscellaneous store and vehicles held by the company in Rochester, Kent. 2. Checking for all serviceability of all items after training periods, and ensuring repairs, replacement and laundering of items as required. 3. Oversee all equipment care as directed by the Equipment Care Manager for the Bn. 4. Leading recces/advance parties prior to take-over of training camps and facilities if reserve CQMS not available. 5. Recovery of clothing, equipment and publications from discharged and non-effective personnel, visiting them at home, if necessary, in conjunction with the PSAO, SPSI and PSI. 6. Accounting for all training publications and aide-memoires. 7. Carry out any additional responsibilities as required by the QM. 8. Carry out CNO and CVO duties as required (on average two weeks duty period per year). 9. Carry out any other duties as directed by the chain of command. 10. Responding / dealing to all armoury alarms. |
Essential competencies
1. All Arms CQMS qualifed. 2. MJDI Material Accountant. 3. Full UK Cat B Driving License. |
Desirable competencies
1. Previous logistical experince in accounts and management. 2. CVO qualified. Computer literate using MODNET and various applications (JAMES, My Drive, Clarity). |

Domestic Considerations: Should live within 50 miles/ hours travelling distance from the AR Centre. Will be part of the Coy security call out if the Armoury alarm is initiated. Fulfilling a full range of duties based primarily at Rochester with a requirement to travel to Canterbury as and when directed by the QM or RQMS. Due to the nature of a Reserve unit, this appointment will include evening (Wednesdays) and weekend work both in ARC and on exercise in support of the Coy/Battalion. In addition, the Reservist will have liability for compulsory separated service to complete mandated training courses necessary for the current post or future progression, up to 35 days with no single period of separated service to last in excess of 21 days. There are no limits on voluntary Separated Service. They may be mobilised but cannot respond to a voluntary trawl. |
