Headquartered in Walsall, West Midlands, Barhale operates nationwide, delivering complex engineering solutions for both public and private sector clients.
The company has demonstrated consistent growth, with a reported turnover of £177 million for the year ending 30 June 2024, marking a 32% increase from the previous year. Profit before tax rose to £8.4 million, and the net cash position improved to £24 million, driven by the successful completion of major projects across various sectors. Barhale's commitment to excellence is further evidenced by its numerous industry awards, including recognition for health and safety practices and contributions to biodiversity initiatives.
Barhale places a strong emphasis on sustainability and ethical practices. The company is a member of Sedex, ensuring that all its suppliers undergo independent assessments covering fair pay, labour conditions, health and safety, business ethics, and environmental impact. Barhale has also changed its articles of association to meet the legal requirements of becoming a B Corp, reflecting its commitment to operating for the benefit of people, the planet, and the community.
Demonstrating its commitment to the armed forces community, Barhale signed the Armed Forces Covenant on 28 July 2021. By signing the covenant, the company pledged to support serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families, ensuring they are treated fairly and not disadvantaged in their daily lives. Barhale's initiatives include promoting employment opportunities for veterans and reservists, offering flexible working arrangements to accommodate military commitments, and raising awareness of the value that military experience brings to the workplace. In recognition of these efforts, Barhale has been awarded the Bronze Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
