Day 1 People (D1P) are a UK-based consultancy, specialising in managed professional services across Defence & Security. Established in September 2021, our team comprises of expert consultants in a variety of disciplines, including Capture & Campaign Management, Bid Management, Project & Programme Management, Social Value Services, and Collaborative Business Relationship Management. Our experienced and talented team come from varied backgrounds and have a range of experience from recent graduates to subject matter experts with over 30 years of experience in industry or military settings.

We are experienced in the complete P3M discipline set and can provide Project and Programme Managers to manage small one-off projects or experienced leaders of MOD Cat A (£400M plus) Programmes.  We also provide surge capacity with our PMO as a Service function; a versatile PMO, equipped with people, processes, and tools to support your PMO requirements without setup delays, and with low run cost.

We have experience of handling a variety of Defence & Security procurements, from smaller framework-style tenders to major, complex Category A MOD Programmes.  Our Capture and Campaign capability is a proven and scalable Shipley-based Capture and Campaign process. Our people and tools can maximise your PWin and ensure that mobilisation is as risk free as possible.

D1P also offers Collaboration services, our Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW) qualified leaders can craft responses to satisfy bid requirements and support accreditation processes. Additionally, our Social Value assessments and reports enable our clients to address accurately Social Value bid responses which are becoming increasingly more important. Our PMO can also manage your Social Value metrics & projects.

We actively support military charities and sports through sponsorship and D1P integrates social value into our operations by supporting voluntary, community, and social enterprises, reflecting their dedication to the Armed Forces community. This is also demonstrated through their Gold Armed Forces Covenant status.
