Job Description


Subject to formal establishment, Joint Boarding process and sS Policies a vacancy will arise for a OF3 to serve as SO2 DRACL at Defence Academy Shrivenham on FTRS (HC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 18 March 2027 (or earlier/later, subject to formal establishment and candidate status). 

Unit Function: DRACL is the proponent, on behalf of Director ISR and Commander IGDN for the Defence Culture and Language (C&L) capability.

Position Role: Act as COS DRACL, coordinating team activity for SO1 DRACL and translating the SO1’s intent into output.

Responsibilities: 

 Support the C&L Governance structure, with DRACL acting as the TRA’s Agent for foreign language, English and cultural capabilities in Defence.

Secretary of the 2* Defence Culture and Language Steering Group (DCLSG)

Develop Defence C&L policy and advise/arbitrate on implementation.

Provide SME advice on Learning Development and Language matters.
