Task requirements

Domestic Considerations: 27 RSDs to achieve Certificate of Efficiency (and annual bounty up to >£2,000). Further employment available, subject to tasks & availability.

Post Role: Infantry Soldier

Responsibilities:

  1.  Perform the full spectrum of infantry tasks as a soldier within a rifle section.
  2.  Operate all section weapons and Night Vision/Thermal Imaging/Image Intensifying equipment to an acceptable standard, conducting appropriate equipment care to maintain their effectiveness.
  3.  Demonstrate a high standard of Values & Standards, seeking opportunities to develop & build leadership attributes for future employment as an NCO.
  4. Deploy on a 2-Week Annual Deployment Exercise once annually, in the UK or overseas (recent deployments include Croatia, Germany, the USA & Cyprus).
  5. Conduct other relevant duties, as required by the Platoon Sergeant/Commander, according to availability.

Essential competencies

Combat Infantry Course (Regular or Reserve), or RAC Equivalent. Can be completed within 2yrs if transferring from a non-combat role.

Desirable competencies

Cat B Licence. All other training available if not held

Additional information

This role would suit a serving reservist, or a regular transitioning out of service, who is keen to play a critical role in supporting the training and regular functions of an Infantry Coy. The right character is more important than current qualifications - reliability is the key requirement. Subsequent career progression is available via a number of streams
