Task requirements
Squadron Sergeant Major (SSM) responsible for:
The welfare, conduct, discipline, dress and bearing of all soldiers serving in the Sqn both in and out of barracks. Operating in accordance with and enforcing current tactical doctrine and Regtl SOPs when in the field and on ops. The rostering of all Sqn soldiers duties, including the preparation and timely submission of parade and bed states and ration rolls. Assist Sqn 2IC in maintaining effective logistic support to the Sqn both on exercise and operations. Be prepared to deputise for any of the Sqn's officers on exercise or in barracks. Act as Reporting Officer for Ph 2 and Tpr/LCpls as required. Any additional Regtl or Sqn tasks as directed by the CO or Sqn Ldr. Represent the Sqn externally when required.
Operating in accordance with and enforcing current tactical doctrine, Regimental SOPs when in the field and on Ops.
Remain current and competent in all RAC (RACES), BICIP & ITR Training qualifications.
Essential competencies
OR 8 with appropriate experience
Very strong Leadership and communication skills.
Desirable competencies
Driving licence (B & Cat C)
Previous LT Cav experience
ITR instructional capability
TRiM Practitioner.
