Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for a Flt Lt (Pilot (Any)) to serve as 115 Squadron Qualified Flying Instructor at RAF Wittering on Volunteer ex-Regular Reserve Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 20 July 2026, or sooner if the candidate is available.

6 FTS is the largest and most diverse military flying training school in the country.  From its HQ at RAFC Cranwell, the school manages a broad range of flying tasks, from Elementary Flying training on University Air Squadrons to the provision of Air Experience Flying (AEF) for the Air Cadet Organisation.

Responsibilities

115 Sqn operates the Tutor (Grob 115E) aircraft.  As a QFI you will conduct air and ground instruction for qualified pilots undergoing instructor training and, on occasion, conduct elementary flying training sorties for ab-initio, International and University Air Squadron pilots.  You will also be required to conduct training for other aircrew branches and provide familiarisation…
