Job Description

Government Special Access Programme Security Officer

Unit Role: The primary role of the Government Special Access Programme (SAP) Security team is to manage the Security requirements to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of SAP information whilst being processed, transported or stored on-board.

Position Role: The GSSO(M) heads the SAP Security Sub department and is responsible for implementation of the SAP Risk Management Framework on-board, to safeguard the nation’s most sensitive programmes and capabilities. Responsible to the UK-Country Security Manager (UKCSM), RN-Special Capabilities; accountable to MOD SAPCO, and international partners, in assuring maintenance and protection of SAP information. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Principle advisor to the Command team on all matters to do with SAP security. This is a unique role in that Command does not hold the risk for SAPs and must take advice from the SAP Security team.
