Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for a Squadron Leader (Any) to serve as SO2 DOCTRINE FPC KNOWLEDGE HUB at RAF HONINGTON on Additional Duties Commitment Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 23 November 2026.

This SO2 Doctrine post is one of 3 members of the RAF FPC Doctrine Team responsible to OC RAF FPC, through SO1 RAF FP Knowledge Hub, for the development, maintenance and exploitation of RAF FP Doctrine.  RAF FP Concepts and Doctrine development tasks are prioritised and allocated by OC FPC and the RAF FP Force Strategy Steering Group.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and review Air FP information, intelligence and lessons to inform future RAF FP doctrine development.
  • Draft and update RAF FP doctrine and providing specialist RAF FP input into higher and related doctrine.
  • Ensure that RAF FP doctrine is coherent with:
    • Related NATO doctrine.
    • UK Joint doctrine.
