Job Description

Position Role: Military lead for C-CBRN.

Responsibilities

1. Regular provision of military advice and thought leadership on a range of complex policy issues, across both the C-CBRN team and on occasion, the broader Global Issues team. Recent examples include positioning in the SDR, advice on CBRN impacts to the Coalition of the Willing planning and rapid formulation of policy on destruction of CW sites in Syria. 

2. Leadership of the C-CBRN operational community. Effective translation of policy into tangible delivery and understanding of the impacts on end-users is essential. The SO1 will be expected to develop robust relationships with the operational community (both in Defence and XHMG) and use this to identify where Head Office can help to solve issues, provide ad-hoc direction and coherence across the various strands of activity.
